"Buyer and Cellar" Off-Broadway: A broke diva actor works a basement mall owned by "Babs"

You really haven't completely experienced theater in Manhattan until you have seen a one- or two-person show.  Buyer and Cellar might the funniest in years and your corporate meeting group has another 40 days to catch it.

Starring Michael Urie, the production is based on life as an employee on Barbra Streisand's estate, which has been known to be a little crazy in real life.  Urie, who plays "Alex", is an unemployed actor rolling into California in a VW on its last legs. He interviews for a mystery job in Malibu that sounds a weird but fascinating: an anonymous major celebrity has built a mall  in her basement and there is only one customer. This eccentric star wants an "employee" to staff it and then sell her own stuff back to her.  But there is a catch. Alex must glorify the products and even raise their prices. That's when "Alex" discovers his unusual boss is none other than Streisand herself!

Shackman Associates New York provides corporate meeting, association convention and destination incentive groups with unique Broadway experiences that regularly include backstage tours and interaction with key performers.
