Summer is only a month away and in 2014, Governors Island in New York City will feature a mix of old and new. The historic district that New
Yorkers have come to know and love over the last decade is still there and it will be complimented with a 30-acre park of lookout hills, fields and lots of new trees.
Governors Island has incorporated a new design that helps it weather storms like Hurricane Sandy. The edge of the park is already eight feet above the harbor,
and the new landscape includes hundreds of thousands of cubic
yards of fill to create even more elevation.
Shackman Associates New York has run multiple events for corporate meeting, association convention and destination incentive groups that include teambuilding activities like volleyball and corporate galas with the Manhattan skyline in the background.
