"When We Were Young and Afraid" could be the summer's best drama On or Off Broadway

If your corporate meeting group is looking for a great summer Off-Broadway production with an incredible cast, check out the world premiere of When We Were Young and Unafraid.  The writer is Sarah Treem  who is best known for TV hits House of Cards and In Treatment.  The cast features heavyweights like two-time Tony and Emmy Award-winner Cherry Jones and Obie Award-winner Cherise Booth.  The play is directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon  (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?Clybourne Park).Thrown in Margan Saylor from Homeland and this play is an All-Star engagement that compares favorably to any major production on Broadway.

The limited engagement of When We Were Young and Unafraid began on Wednesday, May 21, officially open Tuesday, June 17 and runs through August 10 at the Manhattan Theatre Club.

The plan takes the audience inside a bed and breakfast that has been transformed into an underground women's shelter in the early 1970s.  "Agnes", played by Cherry Jones, begins to see that one of the runaways and her own daughter are forming a very close relationship.  Too close, if you ask "Agnes".  Set upon the emergence of the feminist movement, When We Were Young and Unafraid sets the table for memorable performances where everyone questions their own destinies.
