We love everything David Hyde Pierce (Frazier) has been in, so wouldn't it make sense that he would direct something on Broadway that is hilarious? With "It Shoulda Been You", we were right on the money.
The show starts off by roping you into thinking that this could be just
another boiler plate Broadway musical, then it blows up with so many
twists and turns that you are left breathless. The production has an amazing cast, led
by Tyne Daly, who make the most dysfunctional wedding you have ever attended look like a piece of cake. No pun intended! However, the families in this show are about crazy as they come.

One-night Theater a Huge Entertainment Trend in Manhattan
While Broadway has increasingly added limited-run shows where ticket-demand is high, what would you do if a great show was running for only one night?
We recently caught a production in this category and it was amazing. It was directed by one of the actors from the HBO hit series "The Sopranos" and fellow cast-members were in attendance. Based on Marlon Brando, it's the kind of show that could make a serious run on Broadway, but it didn't, and that's ok.
Sometimes less is more valuable and rewarding.

Alexander Hamilton Becomes a Hip-Hop Mogul on Broadway
With Presidents Day in the U.S. only 6 days away, the Founding Father
that is the talk of New York is Alexander Hamilton. And he wasn't a
President!
But Hamilton is a hot ticket for the Off-Broadway production named after him. Based on the biography by Ron Chernow, the production has one very unusual the twist. It's hip-hop! And if you think some of the most recognizable names on Broadway would thumb their noses at "Hamilton", think again. Andrew Lloyd Weber, who himself transformed Broadway's look and sound, tweeted: "Just seen #Hamilton, it raises & changes the bar for musical. Brilliant lyrics, staging, cast. Creator/les @Lin_Manuel is special. ALW."

Flying Elvises and Tony Danza make a "splash" landing on Broadway
What happens when you mix a guy scared of commitment, his beautful girlfriend, a smooth-talking Sin City gambler and the writer of the "Blazing Saddles" and "Fletch" movies?
You get "Honeymoon in Vegas", a hotly anticipated Broadway musical starring Tony Danza, Rob McClure and Brynn O'Malley. Previews started this week. You have to feel sorry for "Jack Singer", played by McClure, a "stuck-in-neutral-guy-for-too-long" (the one married couples relentlessly bash at dinner parties because their single friend's clock is ticking), but what do you expect when you "roll the dice" with a Vegas wedding? He doesn't see Tony Danza coming and "Betsy", played by O'Malley, is too good of a catch to pass up for a gambler looking for a second chance in love.
Based on the 1992 Andrew Bergman movie starring Nicolas Cage and James Caan, this wildly creative writer (also of "Blazing Saddles" and "Fletch") has returned to pen the musical's script.
For Danza, this is a "wheelhouse" role many of us knew he would nail to perfection. And does. But the actor is doing even more off-stage. Active in the arts-education organization Inside Broadway, Danza is its 2015 Ambassador. In this real-life role, Danza and Inside Broadway are visiting New York City's public schools to promote theater education.
